Mrs. Nneka Arowolo is a highly accomplished development planner and business leader with extensive experience in oil and gas, energy, commercial strategy, and large-scale project execution, built over a progressive career at ExxonMobil and in international financial services.

She served as a Development Planner in ExxonMobilโ€™s Nigeria Upstream business, where she played a key role in strategic investment decision-making, financial modelling and project execution. She also served as Project Manager for a $9.1 billion integrated oil and gas development, leading a multi-disciplinary team to deliver large-scale production projects involving significant oil and gas reserves.

Mrs. Arowolo has demonstrated strong commercial leadership, having served as Acting General Manager, Commercial, and as a Commercial Advisor, where she led complex, high-value negotiations including the renewal of Production Sharing Contracts and oil block licences, as well as dispute settlement agreements valued at approximately $5 billion, preserving substantial enterprise value and enhancing corporate earnings.

Her experience spans financial modelling and valuation, upstream commercial strategy, procurement, contract management, stakeholder engagement and regulatory interface, with a strong track record of delivering cost savings, operational efficiencies and commercially optimal outcomes.

Earlier in her career, she held senior roles in procurement and strategic sourcing at ExxonMobil, managing contracts worth over $1.3 billion and delivering significant cost optimisation initiatives. She also previously worked at Morningstar Inc., where she managed investment client portfolios and supported financial product development.

Education

Ms. Arowolo holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a B.A. in Economics (Honours) from the University of Chicago.

Mrs. Arowolo brings to the Board deep expertise in commercial strategy, project delivery, financial analysis, stakeholder management and operational excellence, combined with strong leadership and execution capabilities.
