Mr. Daniel Owor Agbor is a highly respected legal practitioner and corporate governance leader with over 35 years of experience spanning legal practice, banking, corporate finance, and board-level leadership across Nigeriaโs financial and corporate sectors.
He has had a distinguished career at Udo Udoma & Belo-Osagie, one of Nigeriaโs leading commercial law firms, where he served in multiple senior leadership roles, including Managing Partner (2007โ2019), Senior Partner (2019โ2025), and currently Of Counsel. In these roles, he was responsible for driving firm strategy, strengthening governance frameworks, overseeing business performance, and ensuring accountability across the partnership and executive management.
Mr. Agbor has deep expertise in banking and finance, private equity, corporate governance, and foreign investment, having led major transaction teams and advised on complex financial and commercial matters throughout his career. Earlier in his professional journey, he held roles in the financial services sector, including as Company Secretary/Legal Adviser at Gulf Bank of Nigeria Limited and Product Manager in Corporate Finance at Citibank Nigeria Limited, where he structured financing transactions and loan syndications.
He also began his career in legal practice at Ajumogobia, Okeke & Oyebode, and as a Legal Officer at Nigeria International Bank, building a strong foundation in commercial law, finance and regulatory advisory.
Mr. Agbor has extensive boardroom experience, having served as Chairman of UAC of Nigeria Plc, as well as holding directorships at FSDH Holding Company Limited, FSDH Merchant Bank Limited, FSDH Securities Limited, Pensions Alliance Limited, and Swift Network Services Limited. He currently serves as Chairman of St. Nicholas Hospital Limited, Chairman of Lousol Properties Limited (a SANLAM Group company subsidiary), and has also served as Chairman of KCA Deutag Limited and Alternate Director at Nigerite Limited.
He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and the International Bar Association and has participated in numerous international programmes in project finance, private equity, and financial regulation.
Mr. Agbor holds an LL.B from the University of Benin, an M.P.A from the University of Calabar and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1986.
Mr. Agbor brings to the Board deep expertise in corporate governance, legal risk management, financial structuring, and board leadership, underpinned by a reputation for sound judgment, integrity, and strategic oversight.
